UPCOMING: Wholegood Other Cost and Other Liability Reporting
The Wholegood List (Wholegood > Find > Wholegood) has columns to report on Cost and Liability posted against the unit. There are four columns available. Below are the columns and descriptions of the amounts you will find in your reports.
Cost: Total of ALL amounts posted to asset accounts and referenced to the unit. This includes both amounts posted to accounts that are NOT assigned to the unit and amounts posted to the account that is assigned to the unit.
Other Asset Amount: Total of amounts posted to asset accounts that are NOT assigned to the unit and are referenced to the unit.
Liability Amount: Total of amount posted to the liability account assigned to the unit and referenced to the unit. This includes only amounts posted to the assigned liability account.
Other Liability Amount: Total of amounts posted to liability accounts that are NOT assigned to the unit and are referenced to the unit.
Typically, all cost and liability postings to wholegoods should be against the accounts that are assigned to the unit. The Other Asset Amount and Other Liability Amount columns help you to identify wholegoods that may contain posting errors.
Below is an example of a layout to review these amounts and identify units that may need an accounting review and correction.
Asset Review
Wholegood List with Filter added: Other Asset Amount Does Not Equal 0.00
Looking at the cost detail tab or transaction detail history of these wholegoods will show the cause of the Other Asset Amount. A journal entry can be entered to correct the postings. The detail below shows the posting error for the highlighted unit in the report above.
Liability Review
Wholegood List with Filter added: Other Liability Amount Does Not Equal 0.00
Looking at the Floor Plan tab or transaction detail history of these wholegoods will show the cause of the Other Asset Amount. A journal entry can be entered to correct the postings. The detail below shows the posting error for the highlighted unit in the report above.
