Update Price File Variance - Delete Multiple Lines

You have the option to delete a group of line items when performing a price file update. To initiate this process, navigate to Inventory > Utilities > Update Inventory Master File.

Choose the price file to be updated and the fields to include in the update. Once all items are selected, click "Generate New Changes".

Next, click on "Show Variance" to see a pop-up with data elements to be updated on Part Masters. From this pop-up, you can filter the list to items you wish to delete from update.

Filter the list in the pop-up to the items you wish to delete

You have all filter options available for fields in the pop-up. Below I will show some examples of Filters that will find parts that you do not want to update. You can combine these filters as needed.

If your pop-up does not show the Auto Filter Row, you can add it by right-clicking on a column header and choose the option to "Show Auto Filter Row". Click here to jump to the section about Managing and Using Filters.

Delete All Lines vs Delete This Line

After filtering your list to the item(s) you intend to delete, you will right-click on a line item to access the deletion options.

Delete This Line - will delete the single line item you selected

Delete All Lines - will delete all line items listed in the filtered grid

After selecting "Delete All Lines" you will get a pop-up as shown below. Click "OK" to delete the listed items or "Cancel" to abort the deletion and return to the pop-up.

After clicking "OK", the system will remove the line items from the variance pop-up. The pop-up will display blank until you click on the red "X" at the bottom-left of the pop-up to remove the filters. The data that remains is available to update on the Part Masters.

You can do multiple filters and deletes until all data elements you do not wish to update have been removed. Once you have finished with deletions, click on "Update Inventory Master" to write the remaining changes to the part masters.

Managing and Using Filters

Selection Filters

Selection Filters are drop-down filters with selections boxes. The following fields use selection filters: Location, Price Book, Item Number, OEM Vendor, OEM Division, and Field

In this example, I will choose the Field Column and I will select the Primary Core Pricing fields. To create the filter, I will click on the filter icon at the top-right of the column header box. The system will drop-down a list of fields with selection boxes to allow you to choose the fields to be shown in the grid. You can also type information in the search box to help you find specific fields for selection.

Alternately, you can type data directly into the Auto Filter Row to see specific information for that column. The icon shown in the box determines the filter type

Filtering Numeric Columns

Numeric filters have different search parameters to help you filter to specific data. Clicking on the Filter Icon at the top right of the column header will drop-down the filtering options. This drop-down has 2 tabs: Values and Numeric Filters.

Values filters allow you to set a range for which the data element must be included to be shown. You can type values into the fields or use the bar to create the range.

Numeric Filters allow you to choose a Filter Parameter and a Value.

Clicking the down arrow at the top will give you the list of Filter Parameters to choose from.

After choosing the filter Parameter, you can type a value into the bottom box or click the drop-down to choose from the list of existing values in the grid.

Alternately, you can type the number filter directly into the Auto-Filter Row. The icon shown in the box determines the filter type.

Once all filters are created, you will see the details of your filters at the bottom-left of the pop-up. To remove all filters, click on the red "X". To edit the filters, click on "Edit Filter". To see previous filters and quickly apply them, click on the down arrow.

Clicking on "Edit Filter" will give you a box that allows you to fine tune a query. Here you can add additional conditions and additional groups. You have multiple logic operators such as And, Or, Not And, and Not Or for Groups. For conditions, you have the standard text or numeric filter types. You also have the ability to edit existing filters in this box by clicking on the field you wish to edit.

You can type directly into the Value fields.

If you need to remove a specific line item of the query, hover over the query until you see an "X" to the right. Click on the "X" to remove that line.

Once your query is complete, you can click "Apply" to see the query results and keep the Editor open. Click on "OK" if you want to apply the query and close the Editor.

If the results are not as expected, you can click on "Edit Filter" again to update the query.
