Renting a Wholegood without the Rental Module

Recording and Tracking Wholegood Rentals without the Rental/Lease Module

1. Create a new COGS Type GL Account in your Chart of Accounts called WG RENTAL COGS. Assign a Number and Control account per your particular company setup.

2. Create a new REVENUE Type GL Account in your Chart of Accounts called WG RENTAL INCOME. Assign a Number and Control account per your particular company setup.

3. Create a new MISC. CHARGE named “UNIT RENTAL”. Assign it to the new GL revenue account “WG RENTAL INCOME” created earlier.

Here is an example WG Invoice where the UNIT RENTAL misc. charge has been added. In the description Field, add the WG stock number or serial number to identify the Wholegood being rented. The Quantity can be Hours rented and the Price is the Hourly Rate.

If you want to track the units that are in the rental pool, select the “User Status” field in the WG

Master record called “On Rental” (note: if this is not an available status, you can add from the

dropdown). Be sure to remove the status when the unit is returned from rental.
