Streamlined Technician Clock In

Streamlined Technician Clock In allows the technician to bypass some of the current fields required in Technician Quick Time Entry. In order to do so, a company preference must be checked by your WinNetStar Administrator or someone with access to Company > Company Preferences. The checkmark is located at the bottom of the Service tab in Company Preferences.

Once the preference has been set, the Service Writer will now be responsible for adding a labor line in each Repair Order / Complaint Line in which he wishes a technician to log in. Service Issue, Technician(s), Opcode, and Rate Code are required fields to save a Repair Order. For instance, in this Repair Order, only two technicians will be allowed to clock time.

The technician Quick Time Entry has been modified to allow for technicians to track time with a Task (upper portion) or a Repair Order (bottom portion). If a technician is clocking into a Repair Order, the keyboard focus remains on the Document Number (Repair Order Number) for the tech to type in the Repair Order he is working on. Additionally, the technician can still use the arrow keys or mouse to select the correct Repair Order.

The remaining information is filled out for Repair Order number, Service Issue and Opcode.  The technician can hit Return or click OK to finish clocking in.

The Technician clock out procedure remains the same.

A technician can also clock into a Service Estimate from this screen if the Service Estimate has been set to allow Time Entry.

Quick Time Entry will display the Document Type of Repair Estimate and Allow Time Entry will be check marked.
