Preventive Maintenance - Assign PM Issues or Groups to Wholegoods

After creating the Preventive Maintenance Schedules and Groups, you will need to begin assigning them to your wholegoods for tracking.

Dealers have found success with building a successful PM tracking system by assigning the schedules as they go.

  1. Rental Fleet - if you are tracking a Rental Fleet, assigning maintenance schedules to these units first is a great way to start.
  2. AFS Units - as you sell units, adding the PM schedule at the time of the PDI/Setup Repair Order will quickly build a roster of tracked units.
  3. Service Units - as units are brought to the shop for repairs, add PM schedules to the wholegoods for tracking.

To add a PM schedule to a wholegood, open the wholegood master record and navigate to the Preventive Maintenance tab.

You have the option to add PM Issues individually or by PM Group.  You can use a combination of these options to include all PM items that you want tracked on the unit.

To add a group of PM Issues, click the button to Add PM Groups.  You will see a pop-up listing the available PM Groups.  Select the line item and click OK to add the issues contained within the group.

The PM Issues will populate on the Wholegood.  If they are highlighted in red, there is at least one condition that is showing the service past due.  Right-click on any red highlighted lines that are not past due and select Set last hours/miles/date to reset the schedule to the correct information.

Enter the Last Date Performed and Last Miles and/or Hours and click OK to reset the schedule.

You may repeat the process and add as many PM groups as are needed for tracking.

If there are specific PM Issues to be added that are not part of a PM Group, click on the Add PM Items button. Select the PM Issue in the pop-up and click OK.

Once all required PM Schedules have been added, Save the Wholegood Master.

Now that you are tracking PM Schedules on Wholegoods, you can report on the PM due.  Click here to learn more about Reporting and Repair Order features using PM tracking.
