UPS WorldShip Configuration

Prior to configuring the UPS WorldShip integration, you will need to contact RIMSS to execute and SLA addendum and have us turn on the integration in your system.

Set up Miscellaneous charge in RIMSS

In WNS, mark the misc. shipping charge that you want the Integration to utilize as API Shipping.

PC/File Setups

Create a new folder named UPS in your C drive, C:\UPS. Make sure to save the following two files in this folder before beginning.

Search for ODBC data source (32-bit) on the search bar in the bottom left of windows tool bar and open the app.

Choose the System DSN tab and press Add. From the pop-up, select Microsoft Text Driver.

In the popup for the Microsoft Text Driver, name the driver UPS_Export. Save this configuration in the C:\UPS folder by clicking on Select Directory. If you do not have this folder, you will need to create it.

Create a second Microsoft text driver using the same process as outlined above. Name this driver WNS_Import and save the driver in the C:\UPS folder.

Configure the integration in the UPS Worldship app

Open the UPS Worldship app on your computer. Click on the Import-Export tab. Click the dropdown under Keyed Import and select More.

From the pop-up, click on Create/Edit Map.

Choose the option to Import from ODBC Database. Set Map Type to Freight Shipment. Name the mapping WNS_Import and click Create.

From the pop-up, select the WNS_Import ODBC driver that was created previously. Click OK.

On the left side of the screen, click on the dropdown and choose WNS_Import.csv.

In the column on the left, select the entry named DocumentID, then click on the button to Define Primary Key for Import.

You want to select WNS_Import.csv on the left and ShipTo on the right by choosing from the dropdowns.

NOTE: Most of these mappings are for the Ship to fields in UPS Worldship, but there is an additional field for Shipment Information. The text before the :: is the drop down you want to be on.

Map the fields as shown above and below. Select the line item in the left column, then select the matching line item in the right column. Once both fields are selected, click on the Connect button. Continue this process until all fields on the left side are mapped except for DocumentID which is the primary key field.

NOTE: Once all Ship To fields are mapped, change the dropdown on the right to Shipment Information to map the final field.

Once you map a field, a symbol will populate next to the field in the lists. Once you verify that you have mapped all required fields, click on OK.

Navigate back to the Import-Export tab and press the dropdown for Automatic Export. Select "Export after Shipment Processing and choose More in the submenu.

Click on the button Create/Edit Map.

In the pop-up to Create or edit an import or export map, select Export to ODBC Database. Name the export WNS_Export and click the Create button.

You will get a pop-up to Select an ODBC source. Choose the UPS_Export driver that was created earlier. Press OK.

Now you will map the Export fields in the same way that you mapped the Import fields. Be careful and pay attention within the WorldShip Fields on the left as they have 2 separate dropdowns to map from.

Select a field in the left column, then select the matching field in the right column. Once both are selected, press the Connect button. Continue this process until all fields are mapped, then click OK.

Navigate back to the Import-Export Tab, select Automatic Export > Export After Shipment Processing > More

Select WNS_Export and click on the Export button.

You should now be able to go into RIMSS and test the integration.

Refer to the document UPS Worldship Integration for details on how to use use the interface.
